What I’m Lovin’ in December

Happy Holidays! Read on to see what I’ve been lovin’ this month…

 1. Shopping Local

This Holiday Wish List from City Mom Collective is divided by region (of the United States) with lists of local shop recommendations. I found several new small businesses I plan to support with gift purchases in the future.

 2. Practicing Gratitude All Year Long

There’s a ton of research connecting gratitude to life satisfaction so I’m all about incorporating it whenever and wherever I can. These 7 creative ways to express gratitude (that don’t involve journaling!) are clever ways to keep this season of thanks going.

 3. Getting my kid to do some housework

This is a great list of home maintenance projects that can be handed over to the kiddos – very inspiring 😉 .

 4. Ensuring donations get reused

Purging to donate is one of my favorite activities – it really elevates the decluttering high to know you can pass something you don’t need on to someone else. But…I’ve also worked at a thrift store so I try to be thoughtful about where I sent certain items to ensure they have the best chance of being reused. This list of books to never donate is a great resource!

On a related note, I’ve had loads of success re-homing items I no longer need by posting in my local Buy Nothing group on Facebook (find your local group & join!)

 5. Furniture as mini-hammocks to inspire regular mental vacations

This tiny home is what dreams are made of! Honestly, the furniture is pure inspiration – minimalist, cozy, and chic.

 6. Organizing

I will never not love organizing, but these tips for organizing after Christmas are very timely!

  • Whether you have children who receive care outside of the home or not, this is a worthy listen to understand the ripple effects of our broken system.

My name is Jordan. I'm a full-time working mom whose coffee cup is always half full (and probably still in the microwave). I've got a weak spot for rescuing old dogs, pretending pizza is a vegetable, negotiating dessert with every meal, propagating more plants than any home needs, dreaming of sewing projects while my husband is talking to me, and loving my tribe too deep.
