What I’m Lovin’ in December

It’s my favorite time of the year: the holidays! I know they may look very different this year, but I’m wishing you all a very joyous season filled with warm memories & sweet treats 😉

 1. Face masks protect the wearer too

The CDC has announced that face masks provide protection to the wearer and not just others (as previously believed).

You can read the CDC’s Scientific Brief here.

Need more motivation for mask-wearing?

“…the CDC also said that even a 15% increase in mask-wearing throughout the U.S. could save $1 trillion in economic losses and avert future shutdowns.” – HuffPost

 2. This demonstration of a C-section with play-dough

It might sound weird, but this video is SO cool! Our bodies are incredible. It also made me feel like a superhero (being that Andy was born via C-section!).

 3. This list of 20 Screen-Free Indoor Activities

The holidays are coming…AND we’re in the middle of a pandemic which means many of us will have boatloads of time at home with children (likely alone/without the help of family and social adventures for entertainment). Our TV will for sure be earning its value, but I’m going to try my best to limit it. These ideas were helpful.

4. Dream Christmas tree ornament: a live koala

An Australian family came home to find a koala in their Christmas tree and I’m so jealous.

 5. Vogue’s visual journal of patchwork on the runway

As someone who loves patchwork, this is high fashion I can get behind!

 6. Being indoorsy

I might’ve been made for social distancing because staying indoors by myself is my ideal weekend.

If you’re looking for an indoor hobby, check out this list with recommendations by zodiac sign. Sewing was my match & I’ve never felt more understood!!

 7. Positive reflections of parenthood

Parenthood is often portrayed in pretty dim light. And it can be exhausting (of course), but it’s also fun! I enjoyed hearing Kristen Wiig gushing about motherhood.

 8. Acts of goodness

This student-run grocery store is such a fascinating model! Students get “points” based on the size of their household but can earn more points based on good deeds. The store has also expanded to providing curbside pick-up for the community.

 9. Indian food

These 10 vegetarian Indian dishes look so delicious. I want to make them all.

Thank you for reading along & being a part of my community. ❤

My name is Jordan. I'm a full-time working mom whose coffee cup is always half full (and probably still in the microwave). I've got a weak spot for rescuing old dogs, pretending pizza is a vegetable, negotiating dessert with every meal, propagating more plants than any home needs, dreaming of sewing projects while my husband is talking to me, and loving my tribe too deep.
