Read on to see what I’ve been lovin’ this month!
1. This Tencel Top
From the style of the top (especially the crop paired with the high-waisted mom-jeans!) to the texture of the fabric, I love everything about it.
2. Smart Alterations
I have a dress in my closet with a full front button placket. It’s lovely but I really dislike how the bottom of the button placket splits open when I move around. Alexis’ ran-out-of-buttons alteration for her Hinterland Dress may be the solution I needed to put my dress in rotation.
Speaking of alterations, I found this jumpsuit while thrifting & altered it to fit – it’s a closet staple now!
3. Life Hacks
These 35 Life Hacks That’ll Save You Money, Time, and Tears are pretty spot on.
4. Nine Firefighters had Babies in 4 months and their photoshoot is giving me all the heart-eyes!
5. Barbie introduced a line of gender neutral dolls
Bravo, Mattel!
6. Talking to Strangers
This is not typically something I’m keen on. However, this is a pretty convincing argument for why talking to strangers might actually be the best thing you can do to improve your mental health.
7. This fan*
We just moved and our bedroom is the new home of my sewing area. The room gets a ton of light during the day which sounds fabulous except when you live in a climate that considers any 80-degree temperatures to be a cold front.
I ordered this fan* and it is a toddler-parent’s dream: It’s sturdy enough not to fall over, and if said toddler tries to play with it (because they will), they mostly just push and pull redirecting the air flow rather than having it topple traumatically onto them (and no one needs to give a toddler more excuses to be dramatic).
8. Rotten
We just started watching the documentary series Rotten on Netflix. I highly recommend the 2nd episode in Season 1 called “The Peanut Problem.” It will give you quite a perspective on food allergies.
9. This list of the Best Free Online Guided Meditations for Beginners sounds super helpful!
10. Healthy Food Substitutions
I’ll be keeping this list of 15 Healthy Food Substitutions to Save Money in Your Home Recipes handy as the holidays approach!
11. Building & Maintaining a Sustainable Wardrobe
I realize that sewing your own clothing isn’t for everyone. This guide on How to Buy Clothes That Are Built to Last has a ton of great tips.
12. Pumpkin Flavored Everything
These pumpkin chocolate chip muffin-top cookies were the very most perfect way to welcome fall’s arrival. I will be making them over and over and over until next summer.
