If you follow me on Instagram, the secret is already out: my sister & I took on IKEA!
A few weeks ago, my brother-in-law had to go to Charlotte for work so my sister concocted plans for a sister day complete with a free chauffeur!
I have visited the IKEA in Atlanta twice. Most recently with the Hubs and my sisters-in-law in May.
But I’d always wanted to go with my sister! It was her first visit yet I was the one who kept getting left behind 😉
Of course, we loved the kitchen setups most!
The mint with pink, white and cream was my favorite! It was sweet with a vintage chic feeling. I might have to incorporate the color scheme in to my kitchen someday.
These carts are everywhere right now. I’ve seen several bloggers using them in their craft room – and let me tell you, I almost convinced myself it was a necessary addition!
This was my second favorite kitchen – gray is a close second to white as my favorite home color.
The living room setups are also tons of fun – we tried out all the couches 🙂
And the chandeliers are stellar!
In our planning of the Slice Sister Day, we thought we’d find a mall or have time to get coffee or maybe even lunch…but instead we spent the entire day at IKEA and had to grab a late lunch for the drive home. Good thing our chauffeur didn’t mind us feasting in the back 😉
The best part about the day was that we left with matching polka dot area rugs (and they were only $20! As the owner of 3 aging dogs [aka: accidents happen!], I would’ve bought several to stock up if I had the storage space!)
Every time I visit IKEA, I’m so inspired by the brilliant storage solutions. Right now I’m desperately in love with the beds with drawers underneath! Genius! In fact, I’ve talked the Hubs into trading in our sleigh bed for one soon. (Being that he’s 6’4″, it didn’t take much convincing that we needed a bed without a footboard.)
Living small while being a neat freak means utilizing your space in a smart way to store the stuff you need. I’m still trying to figure out the smart storage thing, but IKEA has some great ideas to help!
If you haven’t been to IKEA before, you must! Plan a day trip or a weekend visit to your nearest store to take it all in! It’s really quite the experience!
